Synopsis
ACTUALITY. Boer War: hauled by a long mule train a four-wheeled cart with three British soldiers seated at the rear crosses the Modder River (14) Oxen harnessed to a covered Red Cross ambulance wagon drink from the river. They then pull the ambulance across, accompanied by a rider with whip (74) Note: R.W.Paul catalogue states that the ambulance contains Boer wounded being taken to Cape Town.
