Production / Donor Details: Mr Dudley joined the Colonial Office after WW2 and was sent to Nigeria, initially to carry out a land survey assessing the damage done to agricultural land by tin mining operations. He afterwards became involved in the reform of local government, and finally became head of broadcasting in Lagos. In 1964 he went to the Gambia to work for the Ministry of Health & the Medical Research Council. His last responsibility in the Gambia was to devise the new electoral system, for which he was awarded the OBE.
