Synopsis
RAF Repair Units clear bomb debris from Rangoon, Burma, while transport aircraft fly despite atrocious monsoon weather.
Bomb damage at Rangoon docks is cleared by an RAF crane. Airmen repair a damaged shed and mount a sign reading 'No. 41 Embarkation Unit'. A large steel girder is loaded onto a flatbed lorry for transport to a scrap metal dump near the Shwedagon Pagoda. Main street in Rangoon; the street is busy with military motor transport and the spire of Sule Pagoda can be seen. A crane lifts steel blocks onto a trailer. A bulldozer clears the rubble of bombed buildings. A young Burmese boy wearing a hat. A crowd of local civilians including a monk with a parasol. Close-ups of young Burmese children. Line of parked transport aircraft including Beechcraft Expediters and Douglas Dakotas in heavy rain. One of the Dakotas (serial KJ718) starts up and taxis away.
