Synopsis
Viscount Wavell and Lady Wavell visit an RAF airfield.
RAF Douglas Dakota aircraft with Union flag flying from the cockpit taxiing. The Viceroy of India, Viscount Wavell, disemplanes and is greeted by Mr Richard Casey, Governor of Bengal, and by Air Marshal Coryton (Air Officer Commanding RAF Third Tactical Air Force). Civilians remove their hats while servicemen salute. US Army Air Force photographers seen filming proceedings. One man wearing a tam o'shanter, suggesting a Scottish regiment. The Viscountess, carrying an parasol against the sun, inspects the guard of honour before the party departs by car.
Notes
The dopesheet describes this as a visit to a forward airfield. However, an RAF North American Harvard training aircraft and a Stinson Sentinel light aeroplane can be seen in the background, suggesting this was shot at a well-established and more permament facility.
No slates, and no cameraman named on dopesheet, as this footage was shot by US Army Air Force cameramen.
