Synopsis
Civilians in Sadaung, southeast of Meiktila, Burma, welcome RAF officers who helped reclaim their village from the Japanese.
A jeep drives up and comes to a halt outside a wooden house. RAF officers get out of the jeep and are greeted by a local Burmese man, and his wife and child. An RAF Flight Lieutenant holds a young child. Local children, obviously dressed for the occasion, put garlands of flowers around the officers' necks. A dance is staged for their entertainment. A man beats a drum, and another plays a 'wa letkote' or bamboo clapper. Close-up of a man beating a drum with both hands while blowing a whistle.
Notes
