Synopsis
Market scene, cattle in river, village scene with elephant and wild deer; more elephants, village scene, coconuts, bats in trees. Flowers in park, Cabbage Palm Avenue, street scenes, lake, elephants in river, view of lake, street scene, hotel, trees and fruit. The resort of Kandy and hill top shots of it from the surrounding hills. Working with elephants. General views of country villages and village life.

Production / Donor Details: The films were shot by Frederick S. Hayburn. Hayburn worked for the Marconi firm from 1904-1930s, becoming Managing Director of Marconi Marine in 1933. In 1935 he became 'Foreign Envoy' for the Marconi organisation and it is thought that these films date from his foreign tours in this capacity. He later became Mayor of Brentford and Chiswick. He died in 1950.
