Synopsis
Race horse meeting at the Bombay Race Course(?). Formal grand wedding or ceremony at a Trade Fair? Procession with Indian Boy Scouts providing a marching band.
Horse show in the grounds outside the Red Fort of Delhi with military horse displays and horse jumping. Busy platform of country railway station. Street scenes in busy city. City shopping arcade. Small Indian boy with his performing monkeys on city pavement.
Production / Donor Details: The films were shot by Frederick S. Hayburn. Hayburn worked for the Marconi firm from 1904-1930s, becoming Managing Director of Marconi Marine in 1933. In 1935 he became 'Foreign Envoy' for the Marconi organisation and it is thought that these films date from his foreign tours in this capacity. He later became Mayor of Brentford and Chiswick. He died in 1950.
